We got rolling on our weekend on Thursday night. My parents, Donny and I all bought living social deals to a local dance studio for dance lessons. We got three individual dance lessons plus a group lesson and some other "group social" event. I was a little disappointed when we got there to discover that with this deal, they weren't going to teach us an actual dance but the "basic steps" of the eight (?) social dances (fox trot, rumba, cha cha cha, etc...). So what we learned was one step of each dance-- aka, not enough to actually do a real dance. Then, of course, they wanted us to buy their wedding package, which would us get a choreographed dance to our song and some lessons to learn it. All for $400. Um, no.
Friday was a big day. Our amazing photographer called to let me know that our engagement pictures were ready! So, while I was already in Greensboro that day, I swung by to pick up our CD! Of course, I'll do a post with them soon, but here's a quick sneak peek. :)
Friday afternoon, we went to our second pre-marital counseling session, where we learned that we rocked the assessment that we took. Basically, we learned (what we already knew) that we think almost exactly the same way and agree on just about everything. So, we're allowed to get married now, hahaha.
My friend April's boyfriend works for Wrangler, so he got us all free tickets to the PBR rodeo on Friday night! It was quite different than the one I went to in Fort Worth. This one was only bull riding-- no calf roping or barrel racing or anything. But the bull riders were professionals, so were WAY better than the guys I saw in Fort Worth. I don't think any of the riders then stayed on the bull for the full 8 seconds, but a lot of these guys did. It was so fun! It was also VERY long. We were there until after 11pm, and I was exhausted by the time we got home.
Saturday morning, we woke up to the sound of rain. Which ordinarily would've been great, but we had football tickets to the UNC vs. Idaho game in Chapel Hill. But, we didn't let the rain stop us! We put on our rain gear and make our way to campus. When we got there, I discovered a bunch of decorative cows all over the campus. I still have no idea what they're for, but they're cute!
And of course, I stopped at Sugarland to get a gameday cupcake!
Our ticketed seats were lower level, row K, which is NOT under the second level overhang. So we ditched our seats in search of a place to be dry because by kickoff it was raining pretty hard. We managed to stay dry through the entirety of the game, although we had to move around a bit as people came to their seats (including some hoodlums that came after the first quarter and started smoking in the stadium during the game...).
Carolina scored a touchdown in less than a minute and were up 28-0 by the end of the first quarter. It was very cold and windy, so we ended up violating my normal sporting event rule and left in the third quarter (at which point, Carolina was up 45-0, I think?).
But before we left, Mia found me! She's a true coach's wife-- sitting out in the rain for the duration of the game. I love meeting blogging friends in real life! :)
Sunday, we went to a new Bible fellowship class at church for engaged and newly married couples. We liked it, but there weren't many people there (although we were told that was unusual). So, I'm looking forward to more people being there for us to meet. That afternoon, we went to see Trouble With the Curve. I had really high expectations for this movie, but sadly they were not met. It was 100% predictable and a little cheesy. If you're going to watch it, save your $10 and wait until it's at the redbox.
And just like that, it's Monday again! Hope y'all had a great weekend! :)
